Mazda
Mazda Motor Corporation started as the Toyo Cork Kogyo Co. in Hiroshima, Japan in 1920. In 1931 it transferred it’s manufacturing from machine tools to vehicles with the introduction of the Mazda-Go autorickshaw. In 2007, Mazda produced almost 1.3 million vehicles for worldwide sales. Inspired by classic British sports cars of the 1960’s (specifically the Lotus Elan) Mazda debuted the MX-5 at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show. A two-seat sports car the MX-5 was conceived as a small roadster, with light weight & minimal mechanical complexity, whilst being technologically modern & reliable. The car was an instant hit seeing the launch of the Mk4 in 2015.
