Penrite Transoil Gear Oil

"These ""straight"" or non-additive treated oils are suitable for use in either straight bevel, spiral bevel or worm gears. The choice of viscosity is very much affected by individual design requirements. For most gearboxes, the lighter the oil, the easier the change.

Transoil 90 - Suitable for gearboxes and rear axles of small and medium sized vehicles from the 20s and 30s. Recommended also for Luvax shock absorbers.

Transoil 140 - The equivalent of what was called 120, 140 and 160 grade. For gearboxes and axles of medium to large size 1920-30s cars.

Transoil 250 - The heaviest of gear oils equivalent to what was known as 600W or 'Steam Cylinder Oil'. Ideal for veteran and Edwardian rear axles, or where a gearbox may require thick oil.
