When the TR6 was introduced, accessory manufacturers raced to develop new products before their competition. Companies like MG Mitten, V. B. Haan, and others offered everything from car covers to driving gloves. One of the most prolific was AMCO, a company that made a name for itself as a reliable source for motoring accessories. AMCO developed a set of tubular "Guards" that raised the level of protection provided by the bumpers. This was popular enough for the dealers to install them on new TR6s before they were sold. Long out of production, good used examples are difficult to come by. We have reproduced these now rare accessory bars for the TR6 in highly polished stainless steel. Developed in-house in our R&D shop on a TR6 belonging to one of the staff, the fit and finish of these kits are excellent. By making a precise copy of the original AMCO bars, we preserved a known fit issue with the late TR6. While the rear bar kit will fit any TR6, the front kit will not work on the rubber bumper TR6 (1974-76) because the front rubber bumper sits higher, raising the bar enough to interfere with the headlamps. That said, these carefully reproduced period accessories are every bit as functional as they were when the cars were new.
