Seat Covers, Front - Morris Minors (2/4 Door & Traveller)

Series MM trim is only available to special order; please contact us for more information. These early seat assemblies used a traditional and somewhat complex construction method. The fitting of these seat covers may require a specialist trimmer. Series MM models often had a chrome trim on the doors, this trim is not available so the original items will need to be retained and reused.

Seat Covers - Series II, 1953-56: Front
The Series II interior trim was largely the same as Series MM. However, the design and construction of the seats altered slightly. Although all Series II seats look the same the construction method changed. Early seats, produced in 1953, had a squab cover tacked to the frame then covered by trimmed fibreboard panel on the rear of the seat. Later seats used a more conventional envelope squab cover. To check which type of seat you have look at the squab back panel. If there is a decorative stitch line below the piping then you have the early type of seat, order the appropriate kit as below.

Seat Covers - Series III, 1956-59: Front
The launch of the Minor 1000 saw a redesign of the seats. They were manufactured using a tubular frame with rubber webbing straps suspending moulded foams. This was a more modern approach to seat design, in common with many other manufacturers of the time. Originally Deluxe models were supplied with leather faced seats and standard models all had vinyl seats. Seats also featured a contrasting grey piping.

We offer seat covers for this range to the original design in the original colours; maroon and suede green, these options are both contrasted with a grey piping. Front seat covers are sold individually, and rear seat covers are supplied as a complete set and all are available in vinyl or leather faced.

Seat Covers - Series III, 1960-62: Front
The first of several redesigns of the Minor 1000’s interior trim was introduced for 1960 model year cars. The seats were redesigned to feature a larger stitched flute in the main base & squab panels. Folding passenger seats were also available on two-door models, allowing easier access to the rear seats. The door trim panels were also revised to feature two horizontal self-coloured piped lines.

We offer interior trim for this range to the original design in the original colours; maroon light blue and biscuit, these options are both contrasted with a grey piping. Front seat covers are sold individually, and rear seat covers are supplied as a complete set and all are available in vinyl or leather faced.

Seat Covers - Series V, 1962-64 Duotone: Front
The second redesign was for the 1962 model year, first shown at the 1961 London Motor Show. This major face-lift included a redesign of the seats and trim panels. The seats were redesigned to feature a longitudinal flute design on the base and squab panels. Again the folding passenger seats were also available on two-door models. Standard models featured a full-coloured trim whereas deluxe models featured the ‘Duotone’ inserts. Duotone is a contrasting light beige vinyl that is incorporated in the design as the fluted section of the seats, a wide horizontal band on the door panels and the rear arm rests on two-door rear quarter panels.

We offer interior trim for this range to the original design in the original pastel’ range of colours with or without the Duotone option; porcelain green, cherokee red and blue grey. Front seat covers are sold individually, and rear seat covers are supplied as a complete set and all are only available in vinyl.

Seat Covers - Series V, 1964-71: Front
The last redesign of the interior trim was introduced for the 1964 model year and ran until the end of production in 1971. This design featured a fluted pattern heat formed into the vinyl trim, the pattern is produced by a high frequency electric welding technique. The pattern is produced on seat covers, door panels and 2 door rear quarter panels.

We offer interior trim for this range in the original colours; autumn leaf, black, blue grey, cherokee red, navy blue & porcelain green. Please note: lime flower was also offered but is no longer available. Front seat covers are sold individually, and rear seat covers are supplied as a complete set and all are only available in vinyl. Both front seats are fixed frames.
